PARKING AREA

パーキング[PĀKINGU]

A parking area is often called “parking” in short in Japan. Unlike Western countries where cars are parked mostly on the street, almost all main roads in Japan are no parking with few exceptions. What puzzles me about parking in Japan is that drivers almost always reverse park whereas in the U.S., cars are parked forward. With front-end parking, we can get out of the car quicker and load the trunk easier. They inconvenience themselves for the convenience of others??
