PUFFER FISH

ふぐ [FUGU]

Fugu contains lethal amounts of toxins especially in the liver and ovaries and therefore are avoided by much of the world except a few countries including Japan, where fugu is a delicacy. Fugu chefs must earn a license to prepare and sell fugu to the public. In Japan, fugu is served in the forms of stew, fried, and sashimi. The creamy shirako is also very popular and highly prized. What is shirako, you ask? Well, I’d better not reveal it here. If you are curious, please find out for yourself.
