JAPANESE RICE WINE(SAKÉ)

日本酒[NIHONSHU]

An alcoholic beverage, also referred to as Japanese rice wine, made by fermenting rice with water and koji-kin (an enzyme secreting fungus). Its alcohol content is around 15%. The taste and flavor vary greatly from one type of saké to another depending on the fermentation method, the quality of rice used, and the climate of the saké-producing region. Saké is very delicate and susceptible to quality degradation if not stored properly. If your first sip of saké does not feel quite right, you should suspect that it was improperly stored whether at home or at the shop.
