SOYBEAN CURD

豆腐[TŌFU]

A food prepared by coagulating soy milk and pressing the resulting curds into solid white blocks of varying softness, which in Japan are roughly divided into momen-dōfu (firm and thick-flavor tofu) and kinugoshi-dōfu (soft silken tofu). Tofu originates in China about 2,000 years ago.. Because of its low-calorie and high-protein content, tofu is widely valued by health-conscious people worldwide. Mary, who used to not care much for tofu, was blown away by the tofu she was served at a traditional restaurant in Kyoto. “I didn’t know tofu could taste this good and flavorful without any seasoning!”
