PASTA

パスタ[PASUTA]

An Italian food made from dough, using flour and water. In Japan “pasta” usually refers to spaghetti. Wafu (Japanese fusion) pasta made with seasonings and ingredients that are familiar to Japanese has become a popular dish in Japan. Napolitan is a representative example. It is spaghetti stir-fried with tomato ketchup, sausage, onion, and green pepper. Some say that Italians are offended by the name and the recipe, but Napolitan has become a nostalgic food for many Japanese. In an old family album, you may find pictures of kids looking like Dracula, which usually means they had eaten Napolitan.
