RAFTING

ラフティング[RAFUTEINGU]

A recreational outdoor activity that uses an inflatable raft to navigate a river or other bodies of water. Because of its mountainous topography, Japan has many fast-flowing rivers with rapids that are ideal for rafting, which can be enjoyed between April and mid-November with the best season being the summer months of July and August. It gives the thrill and excitement of being on a rollercoaster ride. “Instead of standing in line for hours to go on an amusement-park ride, why don’t people try rafting in nature?” wonders Ritsu, who grew up in the countryside, every time he sees a news report of amusement parks crowded with city dwellers.
