WASTE RECYCLING

リサイクル[RISAIKURU]

You see a row of separate recycle bins for cans, glass bottles, plastic bottles, newspapers/magazines, etc., at train stations and other public facilities in Japan. It is one of a few countries where waste materials are separated by the residents for collection. Japan’s recycling rate of plastic bottles is over 80% while its total waste recycling rate remains low at 20%, and needs dramatic improvement. Peeling off labels from plastic bottles before discarding them has been a habit of Ritsu since childhood. he wishes to reduce waste and the workload of collection personnel as much as possible.
