ZOO

動物園[DŌBUTSUEN]

Japan is home to over 91 zoos, where visitors can see different animals, including those that are rare or indigenous to Japan, such as the panda, okapi, and Japanese macaque (snow monkeys). Some zoos in Japan have evolved to have unique features, such as interior designs that resemble the topology of natural habitats, interactions between visitors and animals (feeding and grooming), nocturnal zoos, etc. Ritsu got excited by watching a hippo swimming in a pool. “I didn’t know they could swim this fast!” Zoos are full of discoveries and surprises.
