WHEAT-FLOUR NOODLES

うどん[UDON]

One of the two main types of noodles in Japan along with soba. Udon is made from unleavened dough which is rolled flat and cut or stretched. It originates in China and evolved into pasta in Italy and udon in Japan. It is typically served hot as a noodle soup or cold with soy-sauce-based dipping sauce. As is with pasta, the shape and thickness of the noodles vary depending on the region. Ken caught a cold and was advised by his doctor to eat something warm and easy to digest. His choice, of course, was udon in hot soup.
