NIPPON BUDŌKAN

日本武道館[NIPPON-BUDŌKAN]

An indoor arena located near the Imperial Palace in central Tokyo. It was originally built for the judo competition in the 1964 Summer Olympics. Since then, the Budokan has been used primarily for martial arts contests, as well as for hosting music concerts, theatrical shows, and various other events. The Beatles were the first rock group to play at the Budokan, followed by numerous world-class musicians, including Queen, The Carpenters, and Bob Dylan. Did you know that the roof of the Budokan was designed to resemble Mt. Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan? Maybe that is why musicians who aspire to climb up to the top work hard to earn the opportunity to play at the Budokan.
