MATCHA

抹茶[MATCHA]

Finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea traditionally used for Sadō (tea ceremony). Today, matcha is used in a variety of beverages, including Starbucks’ Matcha Latte, as well as ice cream and other sweets. Because matcha is made from whole green tea leaves, it contains various nutrients that are considered beneficial for human health. I attended a tea ceremony for the first time when I was in high school. The first sip of matcha tasted bitter, but I tried to behave as politely and appropriately as possible. Now, being a grown up, I like and savor the bitterness.
