ICE SKATING

アイススケート[AISU-SUKĒTO]

Ice skating is another popular winter activity in Japan. You can find a skating rink in the middle of a big city, where young and old are enjoying skating as a casual form of exercise especially in winter. Tomoko, an Olympic medalist, learned to skate on an outdoor rink created by filling rice paddies with water in freezing winter. In the beginning, she was just chasing after her big brothers, but pretty soon they were chasing her.
