SAMURAI

[SAMURAI]

A Japanese-style swordsman, also called “bushi,” serving a feudal lord. They lived in strict compliance with the bushido codes of martial virtues, unflinching loyalty, and moral obligation. They had the privilege to wear swords called “katana”. Sword-fighting scenes are a must element in samurai movies and theater plays. You can learn how to use a katana in samurai outfit in some tourist spots in Japan. Modern Japanese are not samurai, but the spirit and mannerism of samurai are very much alive in their way of bowing politely, waiting neatly in line, and being punctual.
