TAXI

タクシー[TAKUSHĪ]

A taxi, also known as a taxicab, conveys passengers between locations according to their requests and charges fares based on time and distance. Your first encounter with the Japanese spirit of omotenashi after a long flight may well be a taxi driver who greets and welcomes you to his car with automatic doors. This can be very helpful especially when your hands are tied up with luggage. The interior of the taxi is always kept neat and clean and at the right temperature. Taxi drivers in uniform are very kind and courteous. There is a famous Japanese saying, “If you are looking for a good restaurant, ask a taxi driver.” Is it true? Find out for yourself.
