RICE CRACKER

せんべい[SENBEI]

A type of rice cracker made by baking or deep-frying thinly rolled-out rice dough. Senbei is known for its incredibly crispy texture and toasty flavor. In the good old days, there used to be a senbei shop in every town. We could smell the baked soy sauce from 50 meters away. The shop owner was busy flipping senbei on the grill, and his wife taking orders with a smile – a nostalgic scene rarely seen in today’s Japan.
