EJP Letter’s 03
Here is a new edition of the EXPERIENCE JAPAN PICTOGRAMS (EJP) newsletter from Japan, where we are in the middle of the rainy season just before the start of summer.
A new set of landmark PICTOGRAMS covering western Japan
In the previous edition, we introduced a set of landmark PICTOGRAMS for eastern Japan. In this round, we present those for western Japan such as Sabae Megane (Fukui) and Shurijo Castle (Okinawa). Along with previously released designs, our landmark PICTOGRAMS now cover all 47 prefectures in Japan.
PICTOGRAMS for Shinkansen—the choices are this diverse!
In the last edition of the EJP newsletter, we featured the Shinkansen (bullet trains), an amalgam of Japanese technologies and aesthetics. You will be happy to know that we have created PICTOGRAMS for different types of Shinkansen trains, including past models such as the N700 series and Doctor Yellow, which connect all major cities in Japan. The Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen, which will link Takeo-Onsen Station in Saga Prefecture and Nagasaki in western Kyushu, is scheduled to begin service this coming fall. With it will come a new train model, the N700S Kamome. The world’s fastest maglev train is also awaiting its debut as part of the Shinkansen system. So, stay tuned!
Please share your experience using EXPERIENCE JAPAN PICTOGRAMS
EJP is inviting its users to share their experience in using and applying the pictograms they have downloaded for their respective purposes. We hope more people will be inspired to utilize the pictograms, thereby allowing them to make a difference in society in their own unique ways. Your shared experiences will be uploaded to our Production Team’s database and utilized by the team as a valuable reference for future development. They will also be shared with the general public via our official website, social media, online magazine, etc. We are hoping to create a community of EJP users where individuals can share different ideas, inspire one another, and spread their enthusiasm to other potential users. Your cooperation will be vital and indispensable for realizing our grand vision to “Support tourism in Japan from a visual design perspective.” We invite and welcome your contribution and input. Please contact us at any time.
